AxureWorld RoundTable #2

Axure projects are sometimes characterized as ‘Prototype Centric’ or ‘Spec Centric’.

The prototype centric projects focus on squeezing the last bit of juice out of advanced features such as ‘raised events’ and variables to produce incredibly sophisticated html visualizations. These, in turn, are incredibly effective in communicating a vision to stakeholders.

The specifications centric projects live by the Word document they generate. This deliverable is often a ‘bible’ that is consumed by developers and is subject to stringent traceability and change control processes. With developers often overseas, or even in blended development models, having a document that can be easily consumed is critical.

Generating a meaningful spec document out of an advanced prototype file can be a challenge, one that Axure is aware of. So, the focus of this session will be:
how do people balance between advanced prototypes on the one hand, and meaningful specifications on the other?
